William Mark Harchak, 61 of Van Dusen, rural Houtzdale, passed away Sunday October 8,2023 at UPMC Altoona.
Born February 19,1962 in Philipsburg, he was son of the late John and Nancy (Haines) Harchak
William attended Penn State University, where he studied Computer Technology. He went on to teach Massage Techniques at CLN Altoona. Bill had multiple computer technology jobs in the area.
William was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Annunciation Catholic Church, Ramey and the Humanitarian Motorcycle Club.
He loved his children, families and twilight. He enjoyed his friends at the Senior Citizens Center, Houtzdale. William enjoyed fishing and always wished he had a motorcycle.
Surviving is his daughter Melissa Kay (Harchak) and David Green of Ramey, sons Zachary William and Daniel (Posas) Harchak of Spangdahlem, Germany, and Mackenzie George and Victoria Harchak of San Antonio TX. and his pet companion Twilight.
Also surviving are brothers; David and Tara Harchak of Harrisburg, Stephen Harchak of Madera, sister Tracy (Harchak) and Mark Ort of Etters, along with multiple nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
William was preceded in death by his parents and paternal grandparents, Mary and Frank Harchak, and maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Oliver Haines.
Visitation will be held at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale on Wednesday October 11,2023 from 6-8pm and Thursday from 9-10:30am. Parastias will be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St Mary's Annunciation Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey on Thursday October 12,2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Father James Davidson as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Church Cemetery, Ramey.
The family requests donations be made in William's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
