Walter E. Britten Jr., 90, of Brisbin, and a guest of Mt. Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, passed away Saturday May 22, 2021 at the center.
Born November 13, 1930 in Houtzdale, he was the son of the late Walter E. Britten Sr. and Agnes (Ginter) Britten.
Walter was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale and the F & AM Osceola Lodge #515.
He retired from Penn State University, where he was employed in the maintenance department.
Walter and his late wife were faithful volunteers at Mt. Laurel and other Nursing Homes.
On January 22, 1948 he married Patricia (Jackson) Britten, who preceded him in death on July 19, 2019.
Walter is survived by a son Walter Britten III and his wife Karen of Houtzdale, a daughter Pamela Marshall and her husband Thomas of Smokerun, a grandson Jordon Marshall, a granddaughter Jade Marshall and a great granddaughter Aurora Marshall.
Also surviving is a brother Jack Britten of Brockway.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, two infant siblings and a sister Doris Baughman.
In accordance with his wishes services will be private.
Walter will be laid to rest beside his wife in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Walter's memory to the First United Methodist Church, 811 Clara Street, Houtzdale, PA 16651.
