Timothy Roger Finney Sr. 72, of Osceola Mills passed away Wednesday September 3,2025 at the home of his son.

Born August 21, 1953 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Joseph Jr. and Joyce (Olson) Finney.

Tim was Methodist by faith and had attended the former Primitive Methodist Church, Houtzdale.

After graduating from Moshannon Valley High School in 1971, he joined the Army National Guard and served from 1971 to 1977.

He was employed as a aluminum and zinc die cast laborer for Doehler-Jarvis in Pottstown until 2001 and retired from the electrical department of Lowes, Clearfield. 

Tim was an active member of the Houtzdale American Legion Post #591 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #327.

He was an avid fisherman, small game and deer hunter.

Tim is survived by three sons: Timothy Jr. (Connie) Finney of Houtzdale, Michael Finney of Osceola Mills, and Matthew Finney of Sinking Springs, along with seven grandchildren: Taylor (Nathan) Rydbom, Tessa Berger, Desmond, Aidan, and Killian Finney, Dylan and Bella Finney.

Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph (April) Finney of Liverpool, TX, and Dwayne Finney of Atlantic, three sisters, Joyce Finney Carnahan of Houtzdale, Darlene (Lawrence) Cowfer of Osceola Mills and Shirley (Raymond) Kitko of Houtzdale and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received Monday September 8, 2025 from 6 -8 pm and Tuesday from 9-11 am at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, Houtzdale.

Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday September 9, 2025 at 11 am with Pastor Kevin Howard officiating.

Interment will follow in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin with military honors accorded by the Houtzdale American Legion and Janesville VFW joint honor guard.
