Sandra K. Cervenak, 76, of Morann, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born July 4, 1944 in Smoke Run, PA she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Minnie (McKinney) Brown.
Sandy was a faithful parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale.
On May 6, 1967 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she married her beloved husband, Joseph A. Cervenak, who survives at home.
Also surviving is a son, Joseph C. Cervenak and his wife, Alicia of Houtzdale, two daughters; Susan Catherman and her husband, Ed of Clearfield and Leane Davis and her husband, Jim of Ramey, along with seven grandchildren; Valent Cervenak, Anna, Becca, Elizabeth, and Seth Catherman, and J.J. and Emily Davis. Sandy is also survived by her brother, Joe Brown and his wife Betty of Maumee, OH, her brother-in-law, Bob Haines of Hummelstown, PA, her sister-in-law, Janet Brown of Hanover, PA as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins .
Sandy was happiest when spending time with family and friends. She loved every holiday and treasured those moments. Sandy, known affectionately as "Granny", absolutely adored her grandkids and delighted in going to their activities. She loved being outside, sitting on her porch, going for walks and planting flowers. Sandy enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and watching game shows. She was truly a kind and generous person, always putting others first. Sandy was a fighter who loved life to the fullest despite her ongoing health problems. She was a treasured blessing to all who knew her and will be sorely missed.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Haines and a brother, Dick Brown.
There will be no public visitation. Those wishing to pay respects are welcome to attend the mass.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday March 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale.
Sandy will be laid to rest in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale..
