Peggy S. Swanson, 80, of Houtzdale passed away Tuesday December 2, 2025 at her home.
Born August 13, 1945 in Dearborn, MI, she was the daughter of Alfred C. and Margaret C (Sharpless) Furrow.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale and attended the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, Houtzdale.
Peggy was a 1963 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and later in life received her paralegal certification.
She was employed as a secretary for Bradford Coal and Penn State University and retired after over 30 years of employment as a paralegal for Ronald Archer Law firm.
Peggy enjoyed traveling, going to casinos with her husband, working puzzles, and had read almost all of Nora Roberts and Agatha Christie books.
Peggy especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
On September 12, 1970 She married Terry Lee Swanson, who preceded her in death on August 3,2025.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Jeana Bennett (Kevin Croyle) of Morrisdale and son Matt Swanson of Houtzdale.
Also surviving are three grandchildren: Jarrod (Jessica) Bennett, Liam Bennett (Jordan Wible), Zachary (Katie) Bennett and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and a brother Alfred (Butch) Furrow.
Family and friends will be received Sunday December 7,2025 at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, Houtzdale from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service officiated by Father William Ellis at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
