Paul Wayne Clancy

Paul  Wayne Clancy Sr., 81, of Houtzdale, passed away Tuesday March 7, 2023 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center , State College, PA.

Born June 1, 1941, in Madera, he was the son of the late Chester and Beatrice (Peck) Clancy.

He was a member of First United Methodist  Church, Houtzdale.

Paul served on the Houtzdale Municipal Sewer Authority and Borough Council for many years.  He was a member of the Council of Government and the Houtzdale American Legion Post #591.

He retired from Rushton Mining and The Altoona Mirror.

Paul served honorably in the United States Air Force.

Paul enjoyed playing golf, watching Penn State sports and was devoted to serving his community.

 On May 13, 1961, he married Patricia "Pat"(Refalsky) Clancy, who preceded him in death on February 11, 2023

He is survived by his three children; Paul W. Clancy Jr. of Houtzdale, Angelia (John) Sukala of Williamsburg, and Christie Margaret Clancy of Janesville, along with six grandchildren; Joshua and Jeremey Clancy, Mary and Sara Sukala, Maggie Frailey, Katherine Fields, John Sukala III and six great grandchildren. 

Paul was the last of his generation.

Proceeding him in death were his wife, parents, a brother Raymond Clancy and a sister Mary Carol Burchill.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday March 11,2023 at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, Houtzdale. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. 

The Houtzdale American Legion and Janesville Veterans of Foreign Wars joint honor guard will accord Military Honors at the funeral home on Saturday.
