Patricia "Jane" (Lanich) Waite, 76, formerly of Smoke Run, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on Sunday May 26,2024 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.

Born February 10,1948 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Jesse E Lanich and Margaret M. (Rafferty) Lanich.

 She graduated from Clearfield High School and on June 25,1966 she married Richard A. "Dick" Waite Sr. who passed away on October 6,2019

Patricia enjoyed raising her five children while she was employed in various customer support positions. She loved meeting new people and building lasting friendships.

She was employed by Penn State University for fifteen years before retiring in 2010.  During her tenure at Penn State she was a proud recipient of the Special Dean's Honor Award, which recognizes outstanding employees who exemplify the highest standards of customer service to the college campus.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters; Kimberly D (Andrew) Finch of Perry, OH, Susan A. Waite-Martin of Philipsburg, three sons; Richard A (Annie) Waite Jr. of Madera, Gary M. and Bradley M. Waite, both of Smoke Run.

Also surviving are three grandchildren; Douglas A. Waite and Gage F. Waite of Madera, Jenika P. Finch of Perry, OH, along with siblings; Sharon Y. Lanich-Stewart of Penfield, NY, Virginia L Lanich-Hayward of Woodland, John K. Lanich of Miami, FL and Shelly L. Lanich of Dallas, TX.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and three brothers, Donald "Teck" Lanich, Jesse Richard "Dick" Lanich, and Roy Lanich.

Family and friends will be received at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc. in Houtzdale on Saturday, June 1,2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held Sunday June 2,2024 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Howard officiating.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. 

The family requests donations be made in Patricia's memory to the Madera Ambulance Service, 3000 Main Street, Madera, Pa 16661.
