Maryan Dombroski

Maryan Dombroski, 93, of Houtzdale, passed away Thursday November 2, 2023 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born August 16, 1930 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alice (Causer) McQuillen.

 Maryan was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she enjoyed participating in all church activities.

She was Secretary and Business Manager for the Houtzdale Municipal Sewer Authority for over 30 years.

Maryan spent her days watching News and Christian TV Stations.  She loved working cross word puzzles and prized herself in being able to solve math problems, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

On October 29, 1949 she married Frank Dombroski, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2011.

 Maryan is survived by two children; Karen Gresh and Christopher Dombroski, both of Houtzdale, along with three grandchildren Michele (Jamie) Wayne, Kaitlin and Allison Dombroski and two great granddaughters; Gabrielle and Alexis Wayne.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, grandson Stephen Gresh and great grandson Michael Biancuzzo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday November 7,2023 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale with Rev. Father Zab Amar as celebrant.

Family and friends will be received at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, Houtzdale on Monday November 6, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m.  The Altar Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 5:30 pm on Monday at the funeral Home.

Maryan will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale.
