Margaret “Marge” Shimchock of Clearfield, passed away June 16, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born July 7, 1925 in Houtzdale, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kowal) Harchak.

On July 7, 1945 she married John Shimchock, who preceded her in death on May 8, 2004.

Margaret is survived by four grandchildren: Francine Shimchock of Clearfield, Paul Billotte of Vicksburg, MS, Kathleen Hawkins of Olanta, and Jared Billotte of Alamogordo, NM.

Also surviving are four great-grandchildren: Ashley Knepp, Lindsey Lindstrom, and Heath and Reed Hawkins, along with two great-great grandchildren Kace and Kloe Lindstrom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son John W Shimchock Jr, a daughter Barbara Billotte, three brothers, Frank, John and William Harchak, and three sisters, Betty Hensel, Christine DeLattre and Pat Bailey.

Margaret was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ramey, Ladies Auxiliary of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. of Curwensville, The National Wild Turkey Federation, and The Civil Air Patrol. In her early years, she was employed as a nanny for a family in New York City and later was employed as a seamstress for Kent Sportswear in Curwensville.

Her delicious pies, sticky buns and bread were the family favorites. She loved flowers, bird watching and was dedicated to the organizations she served. Throughout her life, Margaret enjoyed talking to people from all over the area on the CB radio and was known by the handle “Precious”. She had a generous nature and a big personality.

A private burial service for the family will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Ramey.

The family suggests donations be made in Margaret's memory to the Clearfield County Public Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
