Marcia Kay Reese

Marcia Kay Reese, 86, of Jupiter, FL, and formerly of Houtzdale, passed away Monday March 18, 2024, at Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter, FL.

Born January 31, 1938, in Woodward Township, rural Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Lillian (Nearhoof) Reese.

Marcia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale.

She was a 1955 graduate of HWB High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Montefiore School of Nursing in Pittsburgh.

Her career path in nursing began at Magee Women’s Hospital and continued on to the Eye and Ear Hospital in Pittsburgh and she retired after 20 yrs. of service at Pittsburgh Highland Drive Veterans Administration Hospital.

She enjoyed tending to her garden and loved the time spent with her beloved dog Buddy.

Marcia is survived by a niece, a nephew, numerous cousins, and many dear friends.

She was the last of her immediate family. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother James W. Reese and a sister Jane A. Reese.

Funeral Service will be held Monday March 25, 2024, at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale with Rev Robert Ford officiating.

Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Marcia's memory to the First United Methodist Church, 500 Good Street, Houtzdale, Pa 16651.
