Lydia Tubo, 85, of Philipsburg and formerly of Houtzdale, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2024 at her home.

Born in Rothenberg, Germany on November 30, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Hans and Emma Sorg.

Lydia was a member of the First Church of God, Brisbin and the New Life Center, Philipsburg.

She enjoyed gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She retired from Philipsburg True Value after 25 years of service.

On March 24, 1961, she married Glenn Tubo, who preceded her in death on February 19, 2001.

Lydia is survived by a daughter Jill (Edward) Finch of Brisbin, a son Steven (Sandra) Tubo of Houtzdale and three grandchildren; Michael Knuth, Christopher (Daria) Knuth and Shane Tubo.

Also surviving are three great grandchildren: Levi, Maci, and Remington Knuth.

Lydia was the last of her generation.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers, Erwin and Hans and a sister Erika.

Family and friends will be received at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home, Houtzdale on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am at the Brisbin Church of God with Pastor Dale Stoops and Pastor John Dill officiating.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
