Leanora "Eleanor" Dobish 95, of Coalport and a guest of Colonial Courtyard, Clearfield, passed away Friday July 29, 2022 at Colonial Courtyard.
Born January 24,1927 in Whiteside, rural Houtzdale, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Andrew and Ruth (Brown) Sklar.
Eleanor was protestant by faith. She previously attended the Church of God in Brisbin and the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Beccaria.
She was employed by various factories in the area and retired in 1987 from the maintenance department of Penn State University.
Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and her church.
On January 10, 1948, she married John Dobish, who preceded her in death on November 29, 1966.
Eleanor in survived by a son John Eugene (Cathy) Dobish of Strasburg, a daughter Mary Jane (Dobish) Carbone of Clearfield, two grandchildren; Joanne (Dave) Tobler and Andrew Robert (Sandy) Dobish, both of Lancaster, and four great grandchildren; Nathan and Sara Tobler and Makenna and Kendall Dobish.
Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Bonnie Sklar and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her generation.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sisters Mildred Zeek, Hilda Mae Olenick, infant sister Shirley Ann Sklar, Ruth E. "Betty" Minds, Marie Fuoss and brothers George "Jack" Sklar and Steven James Sklar.
Funeral service will be held at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale on Saturday August 6, 2022 at noon with Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery, Ramey.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
