Joseph Selvage

Joseph "Buck" Selvage, 80, of Clearfield and formerly of Houtzdale, passed away Thursday April 14,2022 at home.

Born September 6,1941 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late John and Ruby (Phillips) Selvage.

Joe was a member of the United Mines Workers of America.

He was employed by Rushton Mine until its closure then worked for Kitko Wood Products until having to leave the workplace due to health issues.

Buck enjoyed tackling projects and working with his hands.  He never hesitated to help people out when there was a need.  He thoroughly enjoyed working on vehicles.  Other interests include camping and spending time with his family, dancing, and playing cards with friends.

On January 21, 1967 he married Kathryn (Murray) Selvage, who survives in Clearfield.

Along with his wife he is survived by his three daughters; Jamie Selvage of Madera, Heather Lewis of State College, and Bobbi Jo Hogue and her husband Carl of Spring Grove.

Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; Gage and Austin McGuire, Logan Cox, Antonio Albright, Karyn Swanson, Crimson, Joseph, and Isaiah Hogue, Daren and Danae Lewis, Samantha Stamm and Jess McBride, a great grandson, Wesley Selvage, and a sister Linda McPherson.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John and Richard, and a sister Dorothy Prisk.

 Funeral Service will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, Houtzdale with Father Joseph Czarkowski officiating.

Friends will be received Monday April 18, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
