Joseph "Mick" Kasubick 95, of Houtzdale, passed away Tuesday April 26, 2022 at his residence.
Born March 8,1927 in Brisbin, he was a son of the late Albert and Margaret (Kauczka) Kasubick.
Joseph was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, American Legion Freeberg Post # 591, former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 327 and Houtzdale Fire Company.
On September 26,1953, he married Elizabeth (Astare) Kasubick, who preceded him in death on July 20, 2018.
He served honorably in the United State Army 350th Infantry Division in Italy during WWII.
Joseph along with his brother Raymond, founded and operated Kasubick Brothers Coal Co. and Houtzdale Ford Tractor Sales.
He enjoyed gardening, farming, playing cards, helping with the construction of his families homes, and making his homemade wine.
Surviving are his three sons; Girard Kasubick of Chester Hill, Denny (Brenda) Kasubick and Albert Kasubick ,both of Houtzdale, four daughters; Kathy (Rick) Witherow, Marie (Chris) Sherkel, Eleanor Kasubick and Joann (Dave) Dotts, all of Houtzdale.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Nathan(Kelley) Kasubick, Justin (Autum) Kasubick, Alan (Jessica) Dotts, Andy Dotts, Dan Witherow and fiancé Lexi, Katie Witherow, Justine and Eric Sherkel and Brandon(Laura) Morroni, along with six great grandchildren; Cecilia, Anthony, Mackenzie, Kyla, Belle, Henry and a sister Genevieve Dragoney.He was preceded in death by five brothers; Thomas, Alfred, Marcelli, Chester and Raymond, four sisters; Otelia O'Brien, Norbenta Holata, Martha Guentzler and Marie Hemly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale with Father Joseph Czarkowski as celebrant.
Family and friends will be received Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
