John M. Cook Jr. 64, of Osceola Mills, passed away Saturday April 12, 2025 at UPMC Altoona.

Born February 10, 1961 in Ashland, Ohio, he was a son of the late John M. Cook Jr. and Marlene (Walker) Cook.

John was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Philipsburg.

He was formerly employed by J & G Fabrication, Osceola Mills and retired from Charles Caracciolo Steel and Metal in Altoona.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding out on the mountain.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his three sons; Jason Cook of Osceola Mills, Justin (Jaimie) Cook of Frostburg, MD, and Jonathan Cook of Osceola Mills, along with five grandchildren; Jaylee, Marissa, Tyler, Aubrey and Carson Cook.

Also surviving are four siblings, Ronda (Richard) Pearson, Sandra Dillen, Kenneth (Laura) Cook, all of Houtzdale and Leroy (Deb) Cook of Hawk Run.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale on Thursday April 17, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.

 Pastor Scott Hartsock will hold a memorial service Thursday April 17, 2025 at 4pm at the funeral home.

The family requests memorial donations be made in John's memory to Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 315 Hemlock Street, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
