John James Glowacki
John James Glowacki, 91, of Mayfield Village, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, at his residence with his wife by his side.
He was born May 8, 1930, in Houtzdale, Pa.
John served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, was a member of St. Christine's Church in Euclid and spent 25 years attending Adoration at St. Williams Church in Euclid. John served as the Commander of the Polish Legions of American Veterans (PLAV) Chapter 31 for many years. He enjoyed cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time at the casinos, and tending to all the animals that he loved so dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janet (nee Goglin); four-legged companion, Zoey; daughters, Wendy (Timothy) Hambor of Spartanburg, S.C., and Laurie (Robert Stakes) Meagher of Gates Mills; sons, Matthew (Terri) Meagher, John Meagher of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Robert (Marcie) Meagher of Columbus; and brother, Thomas of Harrisburg, Pa. John was also blessed and loved by 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Casper and Catherine (nee Grudzinski); sisters, Verna, Helen, Barbara and Katherine; and brothers, Stanley and Kasmir.
Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Houtzdale, Pa., followed by a full Catholic Mass. Burial will follow in St Barbara's Cemetery, Brisbin with full Military Honors accorded by the Houtzdale American Legion Honor Guard.
