John M Cook Jr.

John M. Cook Jr. 82, of Houtzdale,  passed away on Thursday Aug. 5, 2021 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born February 14, 1939 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late John M. Cook Sr. and Mary (Domack) Cook.

John was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale and a member of the Houtzdale Loyal Order of Moose #327

He served in the United States Marine Corp.  

John retired from King Coal Co of Philipsburg, where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator.

He loved the outdoors and spent hours  riding his side by side.  He enjoyed time spent with family, friends and his dog Cody.

John is survived by  his five children;  Ronda (Richard) Pearson of Houtzdale, John M Cook  of Osceola Mills, Leroy (Deb ) Cook of Hawk Run, Sandra (Bob) Dillen and Kenneth (Laura) Cook, both of Houtzdale.

Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; Leroy  Cook, Dawn Cook, Shannon Stotler, Shawna Webster, Jenna Dress, Jason, Justin and Jon Cook, Carla Conrad, Jordan Walstrom, Logan and Aaron Cook, along with two step grandchildren Sara Hamm and Kaitin Kitko, eleven great grandchildren and a sister Sharon (Daniel)Thorpe.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Eleanor Thompson.

In accordance with his wishes visitation and funeral service will be private.
