Frances Marie (Miscavish) Krysiak, 100, a guest of Knickerbocker Villa and formerly of Houtzdale, passed away Tuesday March 30, 2021 at the Villa.
Born September 13, 1920 in Whiteside, rural Houtzdale she was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Emala)Miscavish.
Fran was a faithful parishioner of Saint Barbara's Parish of the PNCC, Houtzdale and the Women's Society for the Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
On June 10, 1947 in Saint Barbara's Catholic Church, Houtzdale she married Leonard T. Krysiak, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2003.
She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, crocheting, playing cards, puzzles, reading, bowling and painting.
Fran loved to play Bingo with her friends. She was a people person and could make friends easily. Fran and her late husband, Leonard, liked to travel and spent many winters in Myrtle Beach. They went to Poland and Australia. After Leonard passed Fran still traveled and went to Hawaii to visit with her granddaughter.
Fran loved her family very much and cooked for them on holidays and Sunday dinners. There were many discussions around the dinner table about politics, religion and reminiscence about the good old days.
Frances is survived by four daughters; Jeannette (Gulbernat) Holden and her husband Robert of Houtzdale, Patricia (Krysiak) Confer and her husband Clark of Roper N.C., Doris(Krysiak) Taylor of Philipsburg and Joyce (Krysiak) Reed and her husband Brent of Houtzdale.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Robert Holden, Paula Bacher, Amanda Dusza, Alaina Anderson, Julie Dunkle, Janine Duty, Scott Reed, Allison Ramsey, and Chelsea Holton, along with a sister Dorothy Peck of Philipsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband John Gulbernat, her 2nd husband Leonard Krysiak, a brother Paul Miscavish and a son-in-law James Taylor.
There will be no public visitation. Those wishing to pay their respect are welcome to attend the mass.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Barbara's Parish, Houtzdale on Monday April 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Nesbella as celebrant.
Frances will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Barbara's Cemetery, Ramey
