Emma Elizabeth (Blake) Atkins

Emma Elizabeth Atkins 71, of Houtzdale, passed away Friday April 15, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born July 15,1950 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Esther (Kennedy) Blake.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale and attended the Moshannon Valley Community Church, Ramey

Emma attended the former Punxsutawney School of Cosmetology and received her cosmetology license in 1979. She owned and operated Emma Atkins Beauty Salon for over 35 years.

Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren was her greatest joy. Emma was a kind and caring person and loved each and every one of her clients.

Surviving are her daughters; Rhonda (Ronald) Majewsky, Jennifer (Michael) Randolph, both of Houtzdale, along with her three grandchildren; Stewart and Rachel Majewsky, Tess Randolph, and her long time companion James A Southern of Houtzdale.

Also surviving are two brothers, Barry Blake of Philipsburg and Lavoine McKee of Bellefonte.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Emile Stewart, second husband William Atkins, three brothers; Willis and Bruce Blake, Richard McKee and two sisters, Mary Jean Hazel and Linda Hoopsick.

Family and friends will be received at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc. Houtzdale on Wednesday April 20, 2022  from 2:00 pm - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Thursday April 21,2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Ford and Rev. Kevin Howard officiating.

Interment will be in the Westover Baptist Church Cemetery
