Obituary

Edward M Thompson, 73, of Houtzdale passed away Monday June 12, 2023 at Windy Hill Village of the Presbyterian Homes, Philipsburg.

Born February 15, 1950 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Anna (Leskovansky) Thompson.

Ed was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale and the Houtzdale Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #327.

He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Ed was a avid NASCAR, Steelers and Penguins fan.  He enjoyed working puzzle books.

He retired in 2012 from Sahlaney's  Furniture Store after 35 years of employment.

On July 12,1997, he married Deborah (Drochak) Thompson, who was not only his wife but his compassionate caregiver for the last six years. She survives at home.

Along with his wife, Ed is survived by three stepchildren, fourteen step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren, his cat Little One and dog Coco.

Also surviving are two brothers; Eugene ( BoonMa) Thompson of Houtzdale, Dave (Mary Ellen) Thompson of Houtzdale and a sister Jeanette (Rodger) Read of Clearfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother Jerome.

Rev. Father Zab Amar will preside over a private Memorial Service for the family.

Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale.
