Blair Edward Dixon,71, of Philipsburg and a guest of Cedarwood Rehab and Healthcare Center, Tyrone, passed away Thursday September 12, 2025 at the Center.
Born January 1, 1953 in Philipsburg State General Hospital, he was a son of the late Robert Bruce and Edna Mae (Oswalt) Dixon.
He was protestant by faith.
Blair graduated from State College High School in 1971 and started his career at Corning Glass in State College, where he was employed as a Security Guard until his retirement in 2005.
During his retirement he was employed as a Funeral Assistant at the former David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg and the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, Houtzdale.
Blair was past president of PA Glass Workers Protective League and Local 1027 American Flint Glass Workers.
He is survived by two sisters, Edith (Blaine) Patterson of Osceola Mills, Irene (Willard) Williams of Port Matilda, and two brothers, Walter (Alice) Dixon of Boalsburg and Dale (Cindy) Dixon of Bellefonte, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Blair was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Gerald, Frank, Willard Clyde, Terry and Calvin and a sister Jane Scaife.
Family and friends will be received Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm and Monday from 9 to 11 am at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc, 200 David St., Houtzdale.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday September 16, 2024 at the funeral home.
