Anne Marie (Gero) Sahlaney

Anne Marie (Gero) Sahlaney,89, of Houtzdale, passed away Tuesday May 25, 2021 at her residence.

Born January 17, 1932 in Beccaria, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Gero.

Anne was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale.

Anne worked alongside her husband at Sahlaney Furniture Store in Houtzdale for 40 years.

On September 1, 1958 she married John A. "Jack" Sahlaney, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2017.

Anne is survived by a daughter Bettyann Abraham and her husband Albert and a son Dr. Jack Sahlaney and his wife Jennifer, both of Hollidaysburg.

Also surviving are three grandchildren: A.J. and Drew Abraham and Jaclyn Sahlaney.

She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, John Piestrack, Frank Hopnick, Joe Gero, and sisters Mary Piestrack and Helen Kovach.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated Friday May 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Rev. Father Joseph Czarkowski as celebrant.

In accordance with Anne's wishes there will be no public visitation.

Anne will be laid to rest beside her husband in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
