Anna Mae (Huber) Smeal

Anna Mae Smeal, 85, of Houtzdale, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022.

Born October 10, 1936 in Houtzdale she was a daughter of the late Emil J. and Martha (Courtot) Huber.

Anna Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Houtzdale, and had worked at the former General Cigar.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who loved caring for others, especially children.

On April 19, 1969 she married Edward L. Smeal of West Decatur. Anna Mae is survived by her husband; brother, James Huber of Chester Hill; two sons, Edward A. Smeal of Willow Grove and Robert L. Smeal of Houtzdale; and four grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Karl, Emil Jr., Charles, Bill, Jack, and sisters Louise Harsomchuck and Cora Mae Boulton.

A funeral service will be held at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., 200 David Street, Houtzdale, on Saturday January 8, 2022 at noon with Pastor William Conway officiating.

 Anna Mae will be laid to rest in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anna Mae's memory to First Presbyterian Church, 744 Brisbin St. Houtzdale, Pa. 16651.
