Amy R.L. Moore, 59, of Smithmill, passed away Wednesday August 27,2025 at her home.
Born February 6,1966 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Donald Lee and Shirley (Mayes) Lane.
Amy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale.
After graduating from Philipsburg-Osceola High School she went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Juniata College and later her master's degree from Penn State University.
Amy was employed as an auditor for Penn National Insurance Co. until her retirement.
She was a member of the Quilters Guild of Blair County and a social member of the Janesville Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Amy loved animals, especial her Great Swiss Mountain Dog "Autumn". She was an avid quilter. She enjoyed visiting with the ladies at the quilting guild meetings and had just purchased an elaborate quilting machine. She loved people and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Family was very important to Amy, and she loved taking vacations and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family.
On May 19,1990 she married Jeffrey A. Moore who survives at home. They enjoyed thirty-five years of marriage.
Along with her husband, she is survived by a brother Mark and his wife Jeanne, two nephews, Eric and Mayes Lane, and two nieces Kayci Lane and Jordan Lane.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Paul Lane.
Family and friends will be received Saturday August 30, 2025 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Robert Ford officiating
