Florence I. Dufour, 89, of Houtzdale, and a guest of Windy Hill Village of the Presbyterian passed away Thursday Feb. 7, 2019 at the Village.
Born November 18, 1929 in Sanborn rural Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (Goss) Jarrett.
Florence was formerly employed as a secretary for Lloyd Manufacturing in Houtzdale.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, playing the piano, and she loved to polka.
On July 5, 1978, she married Thomas Dufour, who survives in Houtzdale.
Along with her husband she is survived by a son Donald Eckberg of Philipsburg, three daughters; Diane (Lee) Hockenberry of State College, Barbara (David) Brown of Philipsburg, Joan (James) Ricotta of Morrisdale, and two stepsons; Robert (Kathy) Dufour of Ginter and Greg McDonald Eckberg of Big Run.
Also surviving are the following grandchildren; Gregory Eckberg, David (Lori) Eckberg, Amy (R.B.) Merritt, Ashley Brown, Chelsea (Ryan) Scaife, Crystal Ricotta, Tiffany Ricotta, Jared (Cara) Ricotta, Michele (David) Mital, Tammy Ham, Robert Jr. (Jessica) Dufour, Bryan (Kristin) Dufour, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Florence was the last of her generation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ira and Raymond Jarrett and a sister Ada Hawkins.
Funeral Service will be held Monday February 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale with Rev. Robert Ford officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Sanborn Cemetery.
