Charles Lockey Obituary

Charles P. Lockey 72, of Osceola Mills passed away at Penn Highlands Hospital DuBois on Wednesday January 9, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born July 19, 1946, a son of the late Carl and Philena (Hassinger) Lockey .

He was a graduate of West Branch High School and was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Clearfield in maintenance, survey, bridge design and retired as Highway Forman after 36 years of service.

Charles was a member of the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Hawk Run.

He enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling and was a skilled carpenter, but most of all he enjoyed spending time at his summer home in Prince Gallitizin with family and friends.

Charles is survived by his wife of forty six years Jeannette (Charney) Lockey whom he married August 19, 1972 in Houtzdale, daughters Krista Lockey of Harrisburg and Karla (Jerry) Silks of Halifax and the joy of his life granddaughters Kaylee and Jordan Silks.

Also surviving are brothers John (Jack) Lockey and James Lockey, sisters Betty J (Sis) Fetcenko, Dorothy Webster and Debbie Woodel and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Lockey, a sister Mary Lib Kolesar,  nephew Robert (Red) Kolesar, and nieces Patricia Kolesar and Susan Fetcenko.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 19, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Brisbin.

In lieu  of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society,1375 Martin St. Ste 206, State College, Pa 16803.
